Micro-Encapsulated Retinol (1%)
Considered the gold standard in anti-ageing and acne treatment, retinol's mother is Vitamin A, a micro-encapsulated, skin-rejuvenating retinol derivative. Unlike retinol, this derivative is more advanced because it uses encapsulation technology, bringing micro-encapsulated retinol to the skin in a more controlled, gradual manner. This technique drastically reduces the chance of irritation, dryness, or skin sensitivity while at the same time maximizing effectiveness.
Encapsulation increases the effectiveness of retinol as it protects it from external factors that may lead to skin damage.
Key Benefits:
- Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles to slow the hands of time, as well as scale up skin's cell turnover and collagen production rate.
- Provides an even tone by fading dark spots and acne scars.
- Makes it easier for skin to breathe and controls acne breakouts, favourable for acne-prone skin.
- Improves skin texture by promoting more exposure to firm skin, smoothing skin, and skin that radiates.
- Helps reduce skin redness, sensitivity, and irritation, even when skin is new to retinol.
- Provides time-released results and skin irritation.
Why It’s Special:
- Micro-encapsulation helps protect the facial cream to release the active ingredient in the cream slowly so that the common retinol purge gets minimized.
- It is more tolerant and thus can be applied to people with delicate or weakened skin.
- Increases the stability of retinol in formulas - so they can last longer.
- Complements well with emollient amplifiers such as Ceramides and Hyaluronic Acid to facilitate skin barrier restoration.
Skin Compatibility:
- Suitable for normal to oily, acne-prone, and ageing skin
- Best used at night as part of a PM routine
- Should be followed with a moisturiser and SPF during the day for full protection.
